That $150/hour pays rent, electricity, nursing staff, medical assistants, clinic management, and everything else that physician has to pay for (quarter of a million dollars in student loans from medical school, same for college), unless he/she can charge a facility fee. And that half hour may have been the "sitting and chatting" a bit that encouraged the upper and lower GI. It can also save society (you included if you contribute to society) $14000 by coming to the conclusion that a colonoscopy wasn't necessary. <br />"Sit and chat" - you obviously have no idea about the complexities of modern medical care.<br />And why don't YOU quit sitting and chatting with a physician. I can assure you, the physicians won't mind at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1509187841033628660.post-57794228486204452462014-06-24T11:58:45.257-07:002014-06-24T11:58:45.257-07:00So your doctor charges $500 per hour and you pay $...So your doctor charges $500 per hour and you pay $26.40 for a half hour visit, you think he is a good man, and it bothers you that Medicare pays him $50 per half hour, or $100 per hour. So, you believe that $150 isn´t enough for your physician to sit and chat with you for a bit? Why don´t YOU give him more money, we don´t mind at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1509187841033628660.post-644108449292230382013-07-28T22:28:44.055-07:002013-07-28T22:28:44.055-07:00I recently underwent an Upper and Lower G.I., I do...I recently underwent an Upper and Lower G.I., I don't remember the cost for the surgery. I do remember it was over $14,000 for the biopsies alone though. But it was money well spent because they found the early stages of both esophageal and colon cancers, along with ulcers indicating Crohn's Disease. As much I don't like the procedure, they are necessary. I must say this, Since a Silent Protestor is no protestor, I don't like that my doctor's office bills $249.50 for a half-hour visit and Medicare only pays $49.60, and I'm billed $26.40. So he loses $347/hour by seeing Medicare Patients. He's a good doctor and good man, he deserves better than that.TwistedTwerpnoreply@blogger.com
