We in the US have among the highest rates of preterm delivery, low birth weights as well as infant and child health outcomes compared to other rich nations that compromise our health as adults. We are in the exclusive group of two nations that do not have a federally mandated paid maternity leave policy- the other being Papua New Guinea. And so on.
